Shani CP #1

I met with my conversation partner, Abdullah, on Saturday afternoon at Starbucks. He seemed really nice through text and I was excited to meet him. We started off with introducing ourselves, and I asked him a couple of questions to get a better sense of how well he speaks English. I learned a lot about Abdullah and realized that we share many interests, such as our love for travelling, learning new languages, and cooking. He told me about all of the places he's been, some of his favorites being New York and Los Angeles. He talked to me about what it was like growing up in Kuwait with 5 brothers and 6 sisters, and about what his favorite foods were when he was younger. We made plans for him to teach me how to cook his favorite meal from when he was a kid later this week. I asked him if he liked living in Tallahassee, and he told me that he though it was boring. I gave him suggestions of cool places to go, and gave him a list of local coffee shops I thought he might enjoy. I think that I'll take him to Lake Ella at one point later this semester, because he got really excited when I told him about Big Easy Snowballs and Black Dog Cafe.
