Taylor CP #1

Elaine and I met in the CIES coffee lounge on Wednesday, 1/17. I honestly would not have been able to tell that she was in the program because her English is very good, I would say advanced intermediate. We began by talking about her journey to this program and why she wants to become fluent in English. She plans to go to school for clinical psychology at FSU after she finishes CIES, and wants to work with family or couple therapy. Then we spoke about our shared passion of traveling, and Elaine has been to over 10 countries! She also holds a BA in Business from Singapore, as well as a yoga teaching certification. I was very interested in learning more about that, and I think we are going to try to do yoga sometime. Also, I invited her to a house show/ party/ concert that is happening this weekend, and she said she would maybe like to come!
There were not that many things I picked up on that she did not pronounce fully or grammatical errors, but she did say the word divorce like "die-vorce" and a few other small changes. She says she wants help on grammar, so that is what we will work on in our first tutoring session.
