My third classroom observation was my favorite by far. I did reading with Andrew Wilson. My favorite part about it was that he got me involved in the activities and I got my first experience "teaching" without giving the answer away one of the students. At some point during the class, there was an activity and I was sharing a desk with a student, and so Andrew Wilson assigned us as partners. The student was funny and said "thank you" and I whispered jokingly (but not joking) that I wasnt going to give him the answers. It was a good lesson for me, as he obviously wanted me to tell him the answers and seemed to expect me to give them to him, but I talked him through the process of finding the answer. It was a comprehension worksheet based on a reading about beavers and he did very well, i was so proud. My most favorite part about the activity was when Professor Wilson gave me a handful of painted popsicle sticks with names written on them and told me to read off one of the names for the next activity at the proper time. I asked the students to please correct my pronunciation and participated. It was fun because the first student didnt want to read and was funny about it, but still did. He was a good speaker and so it helped me realize that it is nerve-wracking even if you are very good.
