Chelsea CP #3

My third session was not a typical conversation partner meeting; I attended the CIES Cultural Integration Workshop! TEFL students and CIES instructors were each assigned to a group of CIES students from various parts of the world. I met students from Colombia, Brazil, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia! The workshop consisted of various activities designed to increase each participant's understanding of the various roles culture can play in the way we communicate with each other. In a more general sense (from my perspective), the workshop also increased overall understanding of the fact that while we all have many differences, we are not as different as one might initially think. The workshop was an amazing experience and I would highly recommend that next term's TEFL students attend!
