For this conversation partner session with Saad, we met at B-Sharps Jazz cafe. I heard about this new local jazz cafe in class and I could not resist trying it out. This was definitely one of the coolest, random experiences I have had in Tallahassee yet! I had to explain to Saad that cool places like this are not common! Walking into the cafe was odd because it looks just like a residential home. But when you swing open the doors, you are transported to the early 1900s! Everyone was dressed so elegantly, in furs and leather. The music was a sweet jazz played so impressively. The best part was when the band brought out a tap dancer and she tapped to the music, even delivering solo performances! I was so impressed. During the intermission, I talked to Saad about jazz music and its' importance in American history. This helped explain to Saad why we were significantly younger than everyone in the building. Saad really enjoyed the culture and says he wants to return. I recommend this activity for anyone reading my blog!
