I met with Khaled in the tutoring section of the computer lounge, and continued to practice his speaking skills. He was very enthusiastic to tell me about his IELTS test taking experience. He will learn of his results tomorrow, so hopefully he passed! Next week will be his last week, and then he is transferring to UC Riverside, and live with a host family.
He made almost no speaking mistakes, and was able to talk about a wide range of topics. His speaking was intelligible, and did not make any pauses. I taught him a new phrase, which was "night owl", because we were talking about him celebrating Eid, and how he stays up very late. He understood all my questions, and even asked me some! I invited him to the Lunar Banquet next Saturday, so hopefully he will come with his friends.
I am very pleased with his progress, he is not afraid at all to communicate, and I believe he will do very well on his IELTS.
