I met with Nadine in the coffee lounge, and we focused specifically on the speaking and listening portion of the TOEFL. Her reading section scores have made a vast improvement! Knowing how hard those sections are, she got 11/14 questions right, compared to her score in the beginning, in which it would often be only half right. Her writing skills I think are the strongest, since she has time to think and edit. Her speaking skills are just fine, but I think when it comes to testing, she gets nervous and freezes up.

Again, we went over the 2 reasons and 2 examples rule, and to write down key words of both the question (what are they asking), and any words you can think of. I spent some time modeling it, and she really enjoyed getting to time me. We went through a couple prompts, and moved on to listening. The computer lounge already has the TOEFL testing program built in, so she went through some. While she was completing it, I looked over some compositions of hers, and marked out some spelling and grammar mistakes, but did not correct them.

After she finished, we took a break, then we went over the mistakes together. She still forgets to put 's" at the end of countable nouns, and had trouble differentiating between "knew" and "known", and "who" and "which". We went over those as well.
