Taylor CP #4
On February 14 morning I skyped with Dojun for the first time, but due to a Skype update issue we could not video. I did not want to count this as a tutoring session, although we did technically practice listening and speaking back and forth.
We discussed the weather in both of our locations, as well as the customs of the Korean New Year celebrations compared to the United States'. Dojun was home with his family celebrating for the rest of that weekend and he got to see a lot of his old friends from high school. We talked about how each time you go back to visit your hometown there are many new changes to the town and to the people we once knew.
Since our session happened to fall on Valentines Day I also told him about the variety of activities that couples and singles choose to do on this day. I explained that this holiday is one that is centered around buying candy and things, and that some people get wrapped up in that aspect rather than truly remembering what the day is about.
We talked about how different the dating cultures are between the USA and Korea as well. This took up a lot of our conversation.
Next time we hopefully won't experience any technical difficulties!
