On Monday 2/26 I met with Elaine at Catalina Cafe and we enjoyed some sunshine while doing some TOEFL-style conversation topics. I still feel like Elaine carries a very strong accent from her native language, so we practiced slowing down her pronunciation at times. I used the speaking portion of this website https://www.ets.org/Media/Tests/TOEFL/pdf/SampleQuestions.pdf
I believe she is also taking the extra TOEFL class at CIES, so with this additional practice I think she will pass the next TOEFL with flying colors.
As for her other skills for the exam, her listening skills are very strong, but comparing hers to my other tutee who is level 1 may not be appropriate.
Her writing is very impressive as well but still needs to be refined. She uses an advanced vocabulary as it is.
