Trisha TS #12

I met with Simone today. I went to his classroom like usual to pick him up from Professor McKinney. Simone is really sweet because he is always ready to go. He's becoming less shy and his personality is showing more. I feel like I'm not really helping Simone as much as I could because of what his teacher gives me and needs for him to succeed in. He has a placement test of sorts in several weeks and so I chaperone him completing them and make sure he follows the directions appropriately. To make it more like a tutoring session, I have him read aloud and help him with his pronunciation as well as continuing to teach him context clues. When he is finished reading, I go over the comprehension questions with him and ask him what they mean in his own words. Sometimes he doesn't know what a word means like "evaluate" and I tell him what it means and if he needs to memorize it when it isn't discernible through using context clues. Afterwards,  he works silently on the questions and I am sit next to him. He does seem to be improving.
