Trisha TS #5

I met with Turki after class on Tuesday. He texted me that he had his IELT, so I was excited to get started on specifically what he wanted me to tutor him in. He keeps arriving late, so I asked him if this was an okay time for him to meet or if we should meet later or another time. He said this was fine, but that he hit his knee on the door and it hurt. I thought it was a silly excuse and didn't know what to make of it so I sort of laughed and agreed that it hurts. I felt really good about this tutoring session. I found a section on reading because he said he wanted to focus on reading and writing, and so far, we've been focusing on writing. We opened up the reading section and I asked him to read it and I created some comprehension questions for him to complete afterwards. He read it and asked me what some words meant. I explained context clues to him and how to use them. We went over the rest of the reading like that, him pointing out words he doesn't understand and me instructing him on how to figure out what it might mean. After he finished reading, I gave him the comprehension questions, I believe there were five questions. I asked him to answer the questions and that I would error correct with the error codes I had used in the past and for him to fix the errors for our next meeting.
