I met with Simone today and also felt like we reached a level of comfortability. Since I felt the same with Turki and have met with each about the same number of times, I feel like that is part of warming up to someone and letting them into your head a little bit more.  I am eager to have smoother sailing in the future. Simone was ready to go with his packet of papers. When I spoke to his teacher, she informed me he'll be taking a test and needs to work on his reading comprehension, so that's what we do when I meet with him. When we do the exercise, I am giving lots of support and comprehension checks each paragraph to make sure he is understanding what he is reading as he goes along. I also want him to understand that paragraphs are broken up according to topic. He tends to think that if he answers a question with writing from the text, that he will get the answer right. I have to constantly remind him to answer the question. It really is true that teachers have to repeat themselves often. I felt good today because after Simone finished his packet, he saw his little sister in the library and he told me that she is 5 and he said something funny that his dad said about her, that she was stubborn. I thought it was sweet that he was explaining things to me about his life and his family.
