and I met again on February 5th. This time I brought him to Moody's, a
Mediterranean restaurant, where he could try an Americanized version of food he
was familiar with. I could tell he was trying to be nice when talking
about it, but I had a feeling it was not authentic enough. I asked him what he
thought of the pita, something I tried while in Morocco, and all he said was
that it was not the same. He told me that he will have to cook for me one day
so that I can taste his cooking because this restaurant clumps all Mediterranean
and middle eastern foods together even though they are not all the same. I love
Mediterranean food, so it was an offer I could not pass up. Also, he mentioned
how the Greeks cook their food very differently from somebody in Pakistan or
Morocco, and the ingredients they use may be similar but are used differently.
After, I tried to convince him to go to Township on Friday so he could experience
a Happy Hour, but he did not seem too interested.
