I
met with Mohammad on the 28th of February in Strozier. Since he asked for a
list of idioms, I printed a few of the most popular ones and highlighted the
ones I use the most. For the lesson, he wanted me to go over the pronunciation
and meanings of each. For example, for the idiom “stab in the back” is used
when you are betrayed by someone. For some of the idioms, I connected it with a
story. For “stab in the back” I talked about how Julius Caesar was betrayed by
his best friend, Brutus, and, he was, also, literally, stabbed in the back by
Brutus. I felt that if he had an interesting story or something goofy to relate
a phrase or word to that it would be easier for him to retain the phrase for future
use. After, we had a conversation, and he asked me to help and correct him when
he made errors. So, I used this time to incorporate the phrases the sheet
listed.
