For my second class observation, I sat in on Mrs. Caylyn's Grammar with Group 3 class. This was a very fun class to sit in on because it was a presentation day. The students had to present a PowerPoint presentation on their best friend in the class, and students had to answer three questions from the students in the class. You could tell the students were having fun with this assignment. Caylyn is an excellent teacher. She corrects errors on the spot and with an impressive accuracy. She has such a depth of knowledge about English grammar. I know this is expected of an English teacher, but I was seriously blown away by her skills. While the students were giving their presentations, Caylyn was on her laptop making notes. At the end of the class period, Caylyn went to the front of the board and corrected the students "beautiful mistakes". Caylyn is both friendly, lowering student's affective filters, and demanding of respect. She creates a positive atmosphere for learning. This was definitely a favorite.
