I met with Saad again at our usual spot. This time he had something a little different for me; he needed help with a grammar game his grammar class was playing. The game was using modal auxiliaries: words like should, could, would, etc. Saad really wanted to win the game in his class. He was having trouble with the differences between should and could. Many example sentences that he was having trouble with were actually pretty difficult. The differences between should and could can be a bit confusing to explain. Luckily, I had an exercise on my computer that we were able to work on together. Working through the problems together and talking them out, helped him improve his grasp of the concept. I gave him another worksheet for him to take home. I do not know if he completed it or not, but he texted me and told me he won the game!
