On Tuesday 3/6 I met with Mohammed again, this time at Sweet Shop. I was working on homework for a Latin American Geography exam when he arrived so I gave him a mini lesson about that region, and how Westerners have low-key been controlling industrial operations there for years. I wasn't biased, don't worry.
Also, I think he skipped his last class to come to this lesson so I got onto him for that. He said Ryan doesn't teach listening well but I have no idea how to help with that.
Anyways, we worked on some reading comprehension homework of his. It was a passage about Louis Pasteur and his impact on medical research. In the reading there were a lot of unfamiliar words so I had him write them down and introduced the idea of notecards for learning vocabulary. Whenever we came across a word he didn't know I would pull up a visual aid via Google instead of using translate. I try to avoid using translate as much as possible.
