Taylor TS #13

On Thursday 3/8 I met with Mohammed in the Hecht lounge. I had him do an exercise that was matching weather-related vocabulary with corresponding photos. Then, I found this exercise about American facts and information and I had him write sentences to answer the questions. We did grammar correction after each one as well.
I notice a lot of the native Arabic speakers do this, but Mohammed always says “I go to the store” or “He go to San Diego” instead of saying “I will go to the store”. We went over this in more detail. I sent him a modal verb chart to study, but I get the vibe that he does not want to start using them?
At the beginning we went over the weather vocal, and to conclude this lesson we did a listening exercise of “here Comes the Sun” by none other than the Beatles. He was familiar with the photo of the band walking across Abbey Road. He got an 80% on the listening quiz portion of it and enjoyed the song!
