Taylor TS #14

On Monday 3/19 I met with Mohammed in Stroz. We caught up about our spring breaks and talked about how we would have liked to spend them differently. He said Tallahassee was very boring. Since school just started back I tried to keep this lesson fun and interesting by using some lessons from class. We did a mock interview type thing similar to his IELTS practice, but the topic was much lighter than his previous test- home life. We practiced each of the tenses separately. I asked about past events for about 15 minutes, present living situation for present tense, and future/ goal oriented topic for future tense. When Mohammed speaks, he does self correct if he catches himself using the wrong verb form which is a sign of improvement and self monitoring. I can tell a huge difference between now and when we first started meeting, especially with confidence and ability to say what he is thinking in English.
