On Wednesday 2/28 I met with Elaine on campus and we began the session with a discussion on different culture's work ethics. She is a very driven student that constantly puts her studies before anything else, and so are most of the kids in the CIES program. In America, one might say that some of the population is not so dedicated, and many students do not see education as a luxury.
One of her research papers is in depth about an economic tourism study and I am still impressed as how complex the ideas are, but she does hold a Business degree from Singapore already, so that explains that. We looked at the difference of MLA, APA, and Chicago formats for American academic papers and some other key elements of American academic assignments.
